Randoms

Books...we have a ton of books all over the house since Jax arrived.  Tony and I have never been big book readers but I think that will have to change as Jax gets older.  Jax just  loves, loves, loves books.  Screw the toys, games, whatever.  Give this kid a book and he is a happy little man.  Usually we just go through the pages and pick out things for him to identify or ask him where things are.  But recently, I bought a little book about Thumper from the movie Bambi.  I thought maybe this would give him the idea about the Easter bunny.  I was expecting to just do the same old thing we always do but for this book he actually sits on my lap and lets me read every page to him.  He really enjoys it and it is much more fun for me since I'm not just pointing at things.  Hopefully he will start to let us really read him stories now.
Utensils...His new fun thing to do is open the drawers in the kitchen and pick out utensils and run them across the floor and splash them in the water bowl.

Cuddles...he is such a good cuddler.  He has been running up to me lately and he just wants to sit in my lap and hang with me for a few minutes and give me loving.  He is starting to say he loves me without too much asking on my part. I just tell him I love him and he tells me back.
Kisses...our bedtime routine ends with me telling Jax to go give daddy kisses before his last bottle.  He's so cute.  He runs into wherever Tony is and stands next to him looking up at him with his mouth open, tongue out, ready to give him kisses.  Tony picks him up, lets Jax kiss him on the cheek and then Tony blows raspberries on Jax's cheek.  I've also added an I love you in there which they are both working on.  Then Jax says bye-bye and leaves the room.  You can see the love they both have for each other.  It' s so cute that they have their own thing just between them.
Grandparents/Ahma...I'm so glad Jax loves them all.  After a day with any of them, Jax will just ignore Tony and I until they leave.  Sucks for us but we understand. They all have their special little something with him too.  Grandpa is fun, fun, fun with his shoulder rides and wagon rides.  Grandma made a special book with her voice to read to Jax.  He knows it's her too because I asked him.  Ahma and her McDonald's parfaits.  I'm glad he gets to know all of them and I hope they are all around long enough for him to remember forever.  I have memories of all my grandparents so hopefully he will too.

Sleeping...I'm really torn on how to feel about our sleeping arrangements.  Jax has been coming into our bed around 11pm almost every night for the past few weeks.  On one hand, I don't know why it's such a big deal.  Families used to sleep in the same bed in the olden days and in Europe.  It's called a family bed, attachment parenting.  It's not the worst thing in the world.  I enjoy being close to him and he obviously likes being close to us too.  He will eventually sleep through the night and in his own bed.  But on the other hand, I don't want him in there forever.  And we need some alone time just to watch tv or whatever else we want to do in our bed.  At least when he's in our bed, we all get some sleep.  So it's a predicament I am not sure how to fix. Or if I even need to worry about at the moment.

Praying...I've prayed with Jax a couple of times lately.  My mom does it too.  I do it as I'm feeding him before bed.  As I'm doing it, he stops drinking sometimes to listen to me.  I pray every night.  I hope he will learn to pray and know that even when he thinks he's got nobody, he's always got somebody that will listen to him.

Poop

About 2 weeks ago, when I went to change Jax's diaper, he had pooped and there was quite a lot of blood in there.  I'm not talking about a little bit here and there or spotting, I'm talking about a lot of blood.  If this was my poop, I would have freaked the crap out, no pun intended.  Well, I freaked out and showed Tony.  He agreed that is was indeed a lot of blood.  It was very bright red blood, not old dark blood.  I decided to take a picture and if it happened again, then we would go to the doctor.  Well, it never happened again like that but over the next 2 weeks I saw traces of blood in his poop almost every day.  Nothing like the first one, so I decided to wait until his check up on March 5 to talk to the doctor about it.

When I showed the doctor his picture, he agreed that it was a lot of blood.  He checked around Jax's bottom end and found no tears or hemmoroids and nothing suspicious.  So he has referred us to a gastroenterologist to see what the problem is.  He said 98 percent of the time it is nothing but since he had trace amount of blood in other stools, then we need to look into it.

The past 2 days Tony and I have been up to our ears in poop.  We had to fill 3 viles with poop and do this scratch test and send it to the lab.  Then Jax had to have his blood drawn to make sure he wasn't anemic and to check for some other things.  Once at the lad, they said we didn't have enough poop samples, so they sent him home with 4 more viles to fill.  Luckily, Jax can poop on cue, :-) so last night we filled the other 4 viles and then we had to freeze and refridgerate another 2 cups.  What the heck are they testing for that they need 7-9 containers of poop?  Who knows, I just hope they find the issue and it is easily fixed.  Jax doesn't seem in pain or acting any different so that is good.

Please pray that my baby is well and easily fixed soon.

18 months

You weight 28 lbs and are 32 inches tall.  Getting so big.  You are fitting into size 2T now and still in size 4 diapers.

You are running all over the place now.  You also like to climb up on the furniture and the fireplace.  You love climbing steps.

You said I love you for the first time this month.  Wuv woo

You've got some favorite new words now...Mine, All done, No, Cat   You saythem all the time.

You can make the sounds for dog, cat, owl, sheep, goat, bird, car, fire truck, but my favorites are horse = Naaaaah!  and monkey = EE EE EE

You are a master at building towers now.  All by yourself.

You have been very cuddly with us lately.  More than usually which is fine by me.

You are still a picky eater and don't want to sleep in your own bed.  Obviously it is much more fun to sleep in mommy and daddy's bed.

You love stealing Joy and Sadie's food and playing in their water bowl.  It is gross so stop it.  I can't imagine dog food tasting good.

You have learned to climb the ladder in the backyard.  Mama doesn't like you to go too high, but daddy thinks it's great and is so proud.

You nuzzle daddy's nose.  It is your "thing".

Happy 1.5 year birthday my bubba boo.

I love you

Toniht, Jax told me he loved me for the first time.  I don't know if he knows what it means but he still said it.
As I was putting him to bed, I told him I loved him.
He said, Wuv woo.
He said it 2 times.
My heart just grew double in size.
I didn't think I could love him more but he found a way to prove me wrong.

I love you little bubba.
